This week a friend's husband died, my mom's house caught on fire (house mostly intact; dogs and people all OK), and I found out that my dental hygienist, who is a really great person, got hit by a truck in October, and though she is recovering well, is not quite the same person as before.
I am thankful for my life and all of the good people in it.

Oh my goodness! She was hit by a truck?!? That puts my petty grievances in perspective...
Thanks for letting me know about D's husband. So sad. And sorry to hear about your mom's house, but glad everyone is ok. My husband was hit by a truck (on his bike w/o a helmet) a few months ago and lived to tell the tale too. Definitely grateful!
Carleen, how terrible for you and your husband! Apparently motor vehicle and pedestrian/cyclist accidents are more common than we would think. How devastating... I'm glad hubby is OK.
Jeez, kinda makes you feel like you're living on the edge of disaster all the time. I know I'm counting my blessings this week, and you are at the top of my list!
